About the event

Bookmarks author series offers an evening with literary luminaries both home-grown and from away. Each event presents a theme explored in different ways through the writing of our presenters, with readings followed by a panel discussion. For the autumn edition, Creston poet Angela Waldie presents her new poetry collection, A Single Syllable of Wild. From bears navigating valleys filled with visitors to black swifts nesting in remote canyons, A Single Syllable of Wild follows the paths of animals seeking to survive in increasingly popular protected places. Angela is joined by novelist Sarah Louise Butler reading from her book Rufous and Calliope, and outdoors adventure write Jayme Moye. The discussion to follow asks the question: How do we put the wild into words? Admission is by donation.
